Along with the goals of NextGenerationEU, the National PhD program seeks to support further education by encouraging young people to study science and technology for a stronger, more resilient Europe. Participants of the National PhD program understand that training the medical and healthcare professionals of tomorrow is a proactive and conscious investment that benefits society. The educational offer trains highly qualified researchers with the scientific expertise and autonomous research skills needed to address challenges in the field of RNA-based drugs and gene therapy. To achieve this goal, the doctoral program provides a set of specific knowledge and skills in the areas of chemistry, biotechnology, medicine, precision medicine, nanomedicine, and pharmacology.

Doctoral students will experience an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary research environment, thanks to the scientific collaboration of other public research institutions involved in the National Center. Doctoral students will receive advanced and cross-disciplinary training by participating in winter and/or summer schools, as well as attending lectures and seminars designed to elevate research knowledge and soft skills. Committed to embracing the geographical criteria outlined in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), the National Center leaves the University of Napoli Federico II in charge of implementing the National PhD program as an additional means to support and develop activities in the South of Italy.
